After decades of anticipation, Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel has finally hit theaters. The Film picks up nearly 30 years after the events of the original film, after a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River, still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life gets turned upside down when her daughter Astrid discovers a mysterious portal to the Afterlife, with trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a triumphant return to a world that has been dearly missed. With Tim Burton at the helm, the sequel captures the magic of the original while expanding its universe in thrilling new ways. Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice is as wild and unpredictable as ever and with strong performances from Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega, the film proves that Beetlejuice still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
For longtime fans and newcomers alike Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a return to a Tim Burton classic and according to Abby Olcese from The Pitch “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is entertaining… It’s loving enough that it escapes the craven cash-grab territory that plagues most legacy sequels. Unfortunately, it’s all easy to see how it could’ve been better.”
