With school getting back into the swing of things, so are the bats of the Snow College softball team. Which will be looking to improve on their 33-27 record from last season.

They ended the season going 21-19 in conference play and finished with a home record 7-9. The Badgers finished their season in the Region 18 tournament falling to then ranked No.6 College of Southern Idaho in a 4-3 loss.

Third-year head coach Mikelle Magalogo helms the team as the Badgers have been steadily improving their record each year. With her guidance, they placed third in the Region 18 tournament.

The team has 5 returning players from last year's squad who are looking to lead the Badgers to win The Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC). One of the returning players, Kamryn Allen, said, “I would say for sure the end goal is to win the conference, but I also think it’s to keep our team dynamic. To keep what we have going on so far, and to win as many games as possible.”

The season is already underway, with the Badgers completing the first set of neutral-field games in the Coyote Classic in Henderson, Nevada. The Badgers went 2-3, with wins against Central Arizona College and Arizona Western College in their first two games but losses to Yavapai College, Pima Community College, and Eastern Arizona in their next three.

The Badgers are looking to bounce back when they head down to the Western Shootout in Yuma, Arizona, and the Choccolocco Park Extravaganza in Oxford, Alabama.

The Softball team invites everyone to come out and support them when they open up Region play at home against Utah State Eastern on February 28th and March 1st.
