The smell of fresh dirt and plants are what students can experience when they join the Snow Roots Plant Club. Students will be able to grow along with the plants that they take care of.

Snow Roots is a club that allows students to come and enjoy plants and all that comes with them. They are able to grow their own starters, learn how to take care of plants, and have fun with fellow students. Snow Roots provides a space for any student interested in these things.

Professor Dave Love states, “Snow Roots is a club for students interested in plants. Whether that is houseplants, gardening, or botany and plant science.”

There are many projects that can take place in this club. Professor Love says that some past projects have included things such as worm composting and even field trips to botanical museums and gardens. “I can lead local field botany trips to learn how to identify local plants,” Love states. Students will have an opportunity to help plan such projects and activities when they join and even help with establishing a native plant garden on campus.

Students interested in joining Snow Roots can find Professor Love in the Science Building or by emailing him. There is lots of space for new members to join. There are a few leadership positions that have been selected by other students but there is always room for more! Students can join and help to figure out the direction that the club will take during this spring semester. The only requirement is to bring an interest or love for plants, so dig in with Snow Roots.
