“If you couldn’t guess, it’s the Snow College Badgers after the annual paint dance.” Where friends and fellow students gathered on Thursday August 29, 2024 dressed in white, it was “about to go down.”
The Snow College Student Association (SCSA) presidency was ready with their water guns to create some Badger spirit. The SCSA president, Sarah Heywood, when asked about planning and preparing for this exciting event said “The Paint Dance is a tradition done at the beginning of every year. It unites students, brings out the badger spirit, and it’s just a good time!”
The SCSA got DJ Fabrizzio, electric dance music artist and winner of the 2024 DJ promises, and every time the beat dropped cold watery paint rained down on everyone. With songs like Timber by Pitbull ft. Kesha, Starships by Nicki Minaj, and I Love It by Icona Pop ft. Charlie xcx playing, the party never stopped.
By the end of the night everyone was blue and orange from head to toe. There’s nothing else quite like unity and fun, the badger spirit can bring out. “That was one of the most fun things I’ve done since moving here! I can’t wait to see what is planned for the rest of this year,” a quote from Fatma “Faye” Ibrahim who got to meet new friends and enjoy time with old friends. The Snow College paint dance was a great way for many people to connect with fellow badgers, and start off the 2024 school year on the right beat.
