The door opens and a rush of warm air welcomes in the spirit of the holiday. Love On Wheels, skate night to celebrate Valentine's Day, a day known for love. Refreshments laid out on a table with heart shaped sugar cookies with sprinkles and pink lemonade.

Heart shaped papers hang up and balloons are spread about. Music playing over the speakers brings an indoor concert of the students belting out lyrics to some good vibing love songs such as, Brown eyed Girl (Van Morrison), Kiss the girl (from The Little Mermaid), Make You Mine (Public, MisterWives).

Love is in the air, people having a good time and breaking out into dance and smiles seen all around. Hyrum Kunzler went to skate night and says, “Skate nights are always fun but love on wheels was a cool experience because of the more Romanized version. The snacks were yummy, and the company made for a good time. Everyone should go to skate night and enjoy rolling blades on the floor.”

Friends and couples lit up the room with funny falls and the laughter that followed. Many learning for the first time and those with a special talent skating round and spinning on one foot and leaping through the air. The SBO’s host skate night once a month at the GSC.

The next one is March 24, with a Hollywood premiere being the theme. Students are encouraged to come dressed up with friends and have a good time. The activity typically run from 7-10pm. Micah Black, a member of the SBO team said “Skate night brings people together in an activity that they don’t get anywhere else. Fun memories are built and are waiting for more to be had.”
