As the Major League Baseball’s regular season wraps up, it is on to the postseason. Out of the 30 teams, many are eliminated. Leaving only 12 to continue to play in October.

The teams that advanced this year to October are Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, Cleveland Guardians, and New York Yankees. This year the MLB switched up the Playoffs. This year's postseason features a new format, expanding the pool of teams from 10 to 12 and replacing the two single-elimination Wild Card Games with four best-of-three Wild Card Series, to be followed by the best-of-five Division Series. They decided to expand the playoffs in order to nationally televise more games which results in the Major league making more money in tv revenue.

The teams that are favored to win the 2022 World Series are the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros in their respective leagues. The reason why they have the best odds to win the World Series is they have the best records in the MLB which shows they've been a force in the league. The Dodgers have the best record in baseball with 111-51 (111 wins, 51 losses) and the Astros with a record of 106-56 (106 wins, 56 losses).
