Jen Chandler, one of Snow College's directors, currently directing Persuasion was initially drawn to acting, this soon-to-be director found her love of storytelling with every performance. She found an interest in directing, drawing, and taking inspiration from esteemed directors such as John Doyle, Steven Hoggett, Travis Greisler, and Shaun Peknic. She stated that these directors “don’t just direct, then ask questions” with a clear vision stating that “their work has shaped my approach to directing”

The thoughtful and collaborative creative process that Snow College works and thrives on is collaborative. Jen stated “At Snow College, where we all work together and choose what we want to put on next, but with everyone in mind, the students, and the community” this method is meaningful as it shows how careful and with everyone's considerations choosing four plays a year with some backups so everything is ensured to run smoothly, but how do the actors get the help they need, well with working with Chandler this director truly shines, she prioritizes going back to the script, listening to the acting and the character, helping the actor see the similarities to the character or the differences and prioritizing letting others and the stage help the actor and support them, as theater is collaborative in nature, you cannot do it by yourself, but with all the many strengths weaknesses do get tied with them and that’s learning to work together as a team. In the words of Jen Chandler.“collaboration can be tough, but it is a strength, learning to let go and adapt”
