Get ready for an exciting year next fall with Chase Englestead ushering in new programs with cross country. As track head coach at Riverton High School for 14 years, Chase helped his team win five Cross-Country Region Championships as well as the 2014 Track and Field State Championship. He was named coach of the year in 2022 and 2014, both by the UHSXCA and the USTFCCCA. Looking back before his coaching career, Chase Englestead graduated with a Bachelor degree in Physical Education from Utah Valley University. While focusing on his education, Chase ran both track and cross country. In the years 2006, 2007, and 2008 he was named Athlete of the year and NJCAA All American in the 3000 meter steeplechase, which is an event he helped to coach in his future coaching career. He’s a former UVU record holder in the 1500 meter and the 3000 meter steeplechase. Coach Englesteads coaching career began in 2010 as a volunteer at Utah Valley University, to thank the school that gave him so much, and at Timberline Middle School as a fellow coach. From this he has coached two future NJCAA All Americans. While at Panguitch High School, he helped the Bobcats go on to win three track and field state titles. It beautifully comes full circle with Chase’s grandfather Ray, who coached here at Snow College back in the ‘60s and was inducted into the Utah Coaches Hall of Fame in 2006 after a career lasting 45 years. Chase is ready to follow this great man's honor in cross country. “I’m deeply grateful and honored for the opportunity to shape the new cross country programs at Snow College from the ground up. I am looking forward to helping athletes develop themselves as people, in the classroom, and as athletes at this stage of their lives.”Chase Englestead Ushers in Snow College Cross Country Team
