Snow College’s Career Center has helped 1043 students secure jobs and internships in the last year. As graduation grows near, many sophomores are looking for positions to gain experience in the workforce and grow their resume.

The Career Center opened a program called the Work Ready Internship to help some of these sophomores with that goal.

Nine students were chosen for the program this year. Their majors and career paths were varied, but the Career Center was able to help them find internship positions that will give them real experience in the field they want to go into.

Morgan Luke started an internship at Ephraim City Hall with their finance team. She plans on receiving her bachelor’s in accounting after Snow. Morgan said that she is looking forward to “working with new people and doing work that’s a little bit more tailored to the accounting field.”

Helping students experience work in their chosen field is a great way to prepare them for future positions and help them see what life is really like in that area.

Jaycee Westring, an education major here at Snow, said that she is excited to “work with someone in the education field to get a great understanding of what goes into teaching besides what we are taught in class.”

The Career Center helps students find jobs that will help them gain real experience in fields that interest them. They are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Fridays. Their offices can be found in the west portable behind the business building.
