April Fools Day is coming upon students of Snow College. After last year’s wild, prak-filled holiday, students look to take it to another level this year and have even more fun with their friends, roommates, and classmates. This day of the year is an opportunity that every student looks forward to and does not want to pass up on at all.

April Fools is a day most people look forward to, if they are the one pranking. It falls on the first of April every year and started when the Gregorian calendar took over from Julian back in the 1500’s. Those who forgot the change attempted to celebrate New Year's which was celebrated on the 1st of April, those that celebrated on the wrong date were teased as "April fools." Since then, it has been a tradition to prank others on this day.

April Fools Day of 2024 was a day to remember for students, weather being pranked or the pranksters. Grace Holley talked about the prank on her saying “ It was the worst thing ever, I was already late for class that day and what did I walk out too, chewed up gum all over my windshield. . . it had to be one of the worst days of my life.”

Crew Schlappi talks about a prank he pulled on one of his friends last year saying “I bought a remote control car and put a fake mouse on it and drove it fast around my apartment trying to scare my roommates as much as possible. It scared a lot more of them than I could have imagined.”

Pranking and having fun with friends will create memories that last a lifetime. There are countless ways that pranking can happen, whether it is freezing a bowl of cereal, taping pictures of your roommate to their car, whatever it may be. This is a fun time of the season and can help lift some stress from the finals coming up. Become adventurous this pranking season, but remember to stay safe and be respectful in what happens.
