What does ADA stand for, and what does it help with? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provides appropriate academic help and reasonable accommodations for individuals when necessary.
According to the Snow College Dis

ability Services website, “The faculty, staff, and campus community work together to decrease the barriers students experience as a result of their disabilities.” Cindy Shinsel, the Director of Disability Services at Snow College, emphasizes that “people are complex.” During Disability Week, the goal is to raise awareness about disabilities and to help everyone understand that we are not all that different. Some individuals may simply need more accommodations than others.
Snow College offers a variety of accommodations to ensure all students succeed in their academic journeys. These accommodations are available to any student with a current and documented disability that limits one or more major life activities, including but not limited to walking, talking, seeing, hearing, and learning.
Examples of accommodations and services provided include semi-private testing, an alternate format program (such as audiobooks), a note-taking program, and extended time for test-taking. Additionally, a panel discussion will be held on March 20th for a convocation lecture at the Eccles Performing Arts Center (ECCLS) COHALL. This event is an opportunity for disabled students at Snow College to share their experiences and concerns, helping others understand their struggles and needs better.
