Many believe that the greatest time of the year is upon Snow College; the weather is getting colder, snow is falling, and the holiday traditions are emerging.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are two of the most celebrated holidays in Utah. Many will gather as family and friends, and with close ones they have. As everyone comes together, many can bond over holiday celebrations and traditions they choose.
Larson Pogroszewski said one of his favorite traditions that he does with his family is, “ We all gather and have a huge 8 ball tournament at my house. . . whoever wins gets first choice on the turkey and whoever loses has to make the turducken (mix between a duck and a chicken).”
Robbs Evans said he has a new favorite tradition “going to Chuck-a-Rama since my family hates doing dishes and dealing with leftovers”
Ethany Smith said regarding her Christmas traditions, “My family hides a pickle in the tree and whoever finds it gets a whole gift basket full of a blanket and so much candy. . . it is a lot harder than it sounds.”
Holiday traditions can be whatever students want them to be. There are many ways to celebrate the holidays. It is a time that brings people together, and creates peace, happiness, and many other things. It is not at all about the gifts, it is about the time that can be shared with those who matter this holiday season.
Snowdrift wishes all a happy, memorable, and safe holiday season.
